Continuing on your cross country adventure one would hit the city of Memphis, Tennessee. While in Memphis you could take a short detour to see Graceland and learn more about Elvis.
The next stop on your trip is Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville is on the Southern tip on the Great Smokie mountains. One can take a short trip off 81 to see this national treasure.
Traveling along your route You will be near the area of Roanoke Virginia. Roanoke has a few of attractions including Mill Mountain the site of second largest illuminated star in the world.
Just past I 81 you reach the final leg of your trip. I81 segways into I64. It is a beautiful stretch of road that runs from just West of Charlottesville, Virginia to Virginia Beach and passes through Wiliamsburg, Virginia home to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. One will be in Virginia Beach in about an hour or less from Williamsburg.
